- When riding, all riders must wear a helmet, proper shoes with hard soles and a heel, and long fitted pants that are comfortable and do not ride up the rider's leg.
- All riders should arrive 20 minutes prior to their scheduled lesson for grooming and tacking up. If they are not ready by their scheduled time then they lose that time on the horse. Riders should also plan on staying at least 20 minutes after their lesson to cool and untack their horse if needed.
- All cancellations must be done at least 24 hours n advance. If you do not cancel in advance, a fee of your lesson rate will be charged. Except in the case of an emergency, of course.
- All riders have the responsibility of making sure their tack is cleaned and returned to the correct place and their horse is left clean with no saddle marks unless another rider takes the horse to ride after them.
- We suggest all young riders have at least two (2) lessons a month on the correct grooming and care of horses and care of their tack. Further information on such clinics will be provided.
- Riders can participate in horse shows when their instructor feels they may be ready. Coaching is available for those riders who are interested and the rates are posted on our web site heartland-farm.com.
- Trailering is also available to those who are interested in horse showing. Please see Diana or Beth for further information when needed.
- Beth is also available for mane pulling, clipping, body clipping, and braiding. These rates can also be found on the web site.
If there are any further questions or comments please do not be afraid to step forward and speak to Diana or Beth at any time. Please make lesson checks payable to Heartland Farm. Enjoy your ride!
